The Big Question: Electricity
During the years that we had regular mini Christmas lights, our power bill ran around $700, up around $600 from our regular monthly bill. However, since we switched over to LED lights in Christmas 2019, our power bill was drastically reduced to just $150! This is running the show every night for over 1 month, so we are very thankful!
Over the years, we've had our ups and downs with electricity due to our major expansions with the display. During Christmas 2015, we had to get a new, bigger transformer to handle the size of the display! When we had the Talquin Electric electricians over, they were amazed at how fast our electric dial was spinning!
Each year, we use thousands upon thousands of power cords all through the yard. As with organizing all of the lights, these power cords must be organized too. We make sure to keep them bundled by length and color for easy use each year.
