How Much Preparation Time?

Decorating begins each year in July, and we have a goal of having all lights installed by early November. From mid-November until Thanksgiving, we work on programming and testing everything, so the show is ready to go for Opening Night on Thanksgiving night. We estimate it takes at least a couple hundred hours to plan, install, and computerize everything each year! Regardless of the countless number of hours planning and installing everything, it's totally worth it since we do it for everyone's enjoyment and above all, for the glory of God! ​Takedown begins shortly after New Year's, and we usually have everything put away by the end of February. All mega tree frames remain in place year-round. We also implant PVC pipes in the ground to mark where all of the mini tree and arch frames are located, for easy installment the following year. We store everything in plenty of labeled boxes. It's important to be very organized for takedown so putting everything back up the following year goes smoothly. Check out the gallery below to see how takedown happens each year.

During the off-season, we're busy making purchases and doing countless hours of planning and prepping for the following Christmas. The show is truly a year-round process!
